Rocky Retreat is a quiet country place on the outskirts of Pendleton, South Carolina, in the gentle foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property’s centerpiece is a classic Carolina farmhouse built in 1849 and known locally as the Boone-Douthit House. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places and was awarded the South Carolina Historic Preservation Award in 2000.

Rocky Retreat is open select dates throughout the year for bed & breakfast stays, whole-house rentals, and small-scale celebrations and events. Whatever your reason for visiting the Upstate – a Clemson home game or graduation, events at Garrison Arena or Denver Downs Farm, boating on Lake Hartwell, weddings, family reunions or vacation fun – you’re welcome to stay, unwind, and enjoy life at Rocky Retreat.
